The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything

Veggie Tales, originally uploaded by Aldenar.

Ahoy Mateys,

Well me hearties, it looks like the creators of VeggieTales have done it again! Not since 2002's wildly successful "Jonah--A VeggieTales Movie" has the silver screen been blessed with such an enjoyable family-friendly movie. The movie is, of course, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything and it opened in theaters yesterday!

The motto of VeggieTales has been, "Saturday Morning Fun...Sunday Morning Values."

I haven't seen Pirates yet but it does look like a whole boatload of fun for the entire family. Check out the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything Website.

I'm sure you'll have a swashbuckling good time, ye scurvy dogs! Grab your pieces of eight and head to the nearest theatre.

Arrggg!

Live the Red,

Mark

See http://www.philvischer.com/index.php/?p=38 for a full version of the story behind veggie tales, Big Idea, and Phil Vischer. It will give a little better understanding of the content of the movies produced under Phil Vischer and the movies now.

Also, for any Christian business people, it is a great example of what not to do! We all have our stewardship/dominion mandate and in order to fulfill it in business we need to be super careful about how we operate, how fast we grow, and how we plan for business risks. Phil is brutally honest in this series of post and it should serve as a learning curve for all business people.

Business is good. Business opens up doors that are closed to the ministry. Business allows ministry to happen by providing opportunity and finances. But business done poorly could have the contrary effect. It could also ruin your witness in the community. To do business well today, seek advice from professionals as to how to arrange and operate your business, how to manage your assets, how to control your finances, how to pay your taxes, and most importantly, how to control all of this and stay in business so that you can fulfill your stewardship/dominion mandate. While the law may seem burdensome, the "law is good for those who use it lawfully." 1 Tim. 1:8 (NASB). Seek advise on how to use the law to benefit your business, but do it lawfully.

Consider what happened to Phil Vischer and use it as a learning tool.

VeggieTales is a learning tool for young and old (and those of us in between!)
